Berkshire Walkers Walking Weekend

The Berkshire Walkers is one of the Ramblers Association's young walkers groups. In the past, the Ramblers Association has organised an annual event (formerly known as the Big Event and latterly as HikeFest) for all of the young walkers groups and many of our members have attended these events. Sadly these are no longer being organised, so this year the Berkshire Walkers is organising a not-quite-so-big event of its own.

We are organising a weekend of walks and social events in West Berkshire which is open to people from all of the neighbouring young walkers groups and to anyone else who can get there.
This will take place over Friday 10^th, Saturday 11^th and Sunday 12^th September 2010.

The town of Newbury will be our base for the weekend, which offers camping and B&B accommodation and plenty of places to eat and drink in the evenings.

The walks will all be in and around the West Berkshire area and there will be several walks to choose from on the Saturday and the Sunday. There will also be a late afternoon walk on the Friday for people that have travelled down during the day. The walks will offer a range of different distances and terrains to choose from.

We have also organised evenings out for Friday and Saturday. These include such things as meals, a visit to a beer festival and of course going to the pub.
